"It was on the verge of mild to average," said National Weather Service meteorologist Brett Borchardt. The winter was so mild the 36th Annual Snow Sculpting Competition initially scheduled for Jan. 18 to 21 in Sinnissippi Park was postponed until Feb. 8 to 11 due in part to a lack of snow but more so for the unseasonably warm temperatures. If the past winter was noted for a singular weather event it would likely be for the Feb.
